The story behind Revelation 12

Revelation 12 is a battle anthem. John sees a great sign in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. A dragon stands ready to devour her Child, but the Child is caught up to God and to His throne.

Then war breaks out in heaven. Michael and his angels fight the dragon, and the accuser who accuses us day and night is thrown down. The Church reads the Woman as Mary, the Mother of the Messiah, and also as an image of the Church herself.

And the ending is already written: the saints conquer “by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.” Not by our power, not by our fame. Every victory flows from Jesus’ name. The battle is on, and the battle belongs to the Risen One.

Verse 1War in the sky, hear the thunder ignite.
Darkness runs deep but the Cross is our light.
Enemy prowls with a crown full of lies.
Truth cuts clean like the dawn through the night.
The Woman stands clothed with the sun's bright flame.
Moon at her feet while she calls on His name.
Dragon keeps waiting, consumed by his pride.
Grace keeps moving though he never can hide.
He wanted the Child, but the King already came.
Death couldn't hold Him, forever He reigns.
Now every believer steps into the fight.
Faith isn't weakness—it's heaven's might.
Not by our power, not by our fame.
Every victory flows from Jesus' name.
Hell throws its best, but the outcome's done.
The battle belongs to the Risen One.

Verse 2Accuser shouting, day and night he roars.
Mercy keeps opening impossible doors.
Chains hit the ground every soul set free.
The Cross wrote victory for eternity.
Armor of God from our head to our feet.
March through the fire with a heavenly beat.
No compromise, never bow to the beast.
Christ is our banner from west to east.
Saint Michael leading with heaven in sight.
Millions of angels prepared for the fight.
The dragon is loud, but the Lamb is the Word.
One voice from heaven is all that is heard.
Kingdom forever, His promise remains.
Death has been swallowed, redemption reigns.
Every generation, every tribe, every tongue—
Jesus forever, the battle is won.
